June 7 – 9, 2024 | Pittsburgh International Race Complex – Wampum, PA
Opened in 2004, Pittsburgh International Race Complex is a world-class racing facility located just forty miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The 2.8-mile purpose-built track has significant elevation changes, high speed blind turns and fast straightaways. It is a driver’s track.
The weekend was to be the second to last SVRA “3 points races in one weekend” of the season. The team already knew that they would miss Summit Point due to unmovable business commitments, thus, a good showing at PIR was mandatory. It also was the start of three events in a row followed by The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the second event of the year at Mid-Ohio. There was no margin for error, so endurance was going to be a huge factor if we were to have a chance at the Group 6 Championship. As it turned out, it was a great weekend and all went well, allowing Colby and the Leadfoot Corvette to drive away with another forty-eight points.
