Just received word that I’ll be driving for Tom Nelson Racing again, this time in the West Coast Trans Am Series race at the Utah Motorsports Campus. I’ll be piloting the same bright orange #62 TA-2 Mustang that I drove earlier in the year at Sonoma CA.
The Utah Motorsports Campus (previously operated as Miller Motorsports Park) was built in 2005 at a cost of upwards of $100 million dollars. The full course is 23 turns and 4.486 miles in length with speeds approaching 200 mph on the front straight.
Situated just outside of Salt Lake City in Grantsville Utah, UMC is at a breathtaking (literally) altitude of almost 4500 ft. and is surrounded by some of our country’s most spectacular natural wonders. To the south is the 11,000 ft. Desert Peak – the tallest mountain in the Stansbury Mountain Range and to the north and west is an endless view of the Great Salt Lake and The Great Salt Lake Desert – famous for not only the massive Salt Lake but also the renowned Bonneville Salt Flats.
I’ll have more details and hopefully some pictures as they become available.
